Hello! I’m John Miles, a creative professional with experience in graphic and web design and photography. I specialize in identity, advertising, editorial, and digital design in the healthcare, finance, education, and development sectors. I work closely with other creatives and also manage projects independently, communicating directly with printers, writers, clients, and freelancers. My skills include annual reports, ad design, photography, copywriting, retouching, brand/identity design, video editing, and web design and development. I have expertise in Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, WordPress, MailChimp, and HTML5/CSS3, and familiarity with a variety of other applications and technologies.

A graduate of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi, I hold a B.A. in Art with an emphasis in graphic design and a minor in Mass Media and Communications/ Journalism. This liberal arts background provides me with a well-rounded set of skills suited to the multidisciplinary nature of the creative arts, from concept to copywriting to execution.

I have also studied abroad at the University of Reading in England, where I studied typography, web design, and design history at the university’s school of graphic communications. This experience prepared me for the process of writing my honors thesis on the relationship between art movements and graphic design. My work has been honored in AIGA-sponsored shows, numerous Graphis competitions, and GDUSA magazine. When not designing, I can be found hiking, taking photos, and traveling the world (when I’m lucky all at once!).
